Recommended for you. Microsoft agreed to pay two-thirds of the unclaimed money to California schools in that case. The settlement took care of the lion's share of the private antitrust cases pending against Microsoft, the company said at the time. The private cases followed a federal court finding that Microsoft had abused its monopoly status in the desktop operating systems market to the detriment of consumers.
A settlement in the federal case was reached late last year. Leon County says as part of the settlement agreement, which was reached on December 17, no monetary penalties or fines will be imposed on the county. Additionally, the county says, employees who were fired for not complying with the vaccine mandate may be considered for re-employment.

A Florida school will be eligible for the Microsoft Settlement funds if at least half of the students at that school are entitled to receive a free or reduced price lunch during the school year.
What products and services can be purchased with the vouchers? Schools will be able to use the technology vouchers for reimbursement for technology-related purchases such as computer equipment, desktops, laptops, and software.
In addition to new technology items, vouchers may be used for related professional development services such as curriculum development, training for supplemental services for school administrators.
